2020 House League Cancellation

It is with extreme disappointment that we must announce that we will not be able to operate the North York Baseball house leagues this year.

As those who have been with us know, our house league program is a great source of joy to the community where ball players, siblings, parents and grandparents come together for a night of baseball at Bond Park. However, this results in hundreds of people descending upon the park and we cannot operate in a manner that would follow the social distancing protocols that are in place and are expected to be in place for the summer.

The safety of our community is are only concern.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 virus pandemic is real and it does present serious risks that we must face. Those of us involved in the running of North York Baseball are not willing to risk the health, and in fact the lives, of our young players and their family members. As much as it saddens all of us, it is just not worth it.

Already we are busy planning for the 2021 season and registration will begin in November of this year. We invite you to check our website then and register.

It is important to note that our program commences the second week of May and offers a game per week through the summer. In fact we ask that families not register their children if they will miss more than 3 games during the summer due to trips, overnight camps or cottage stays. See below for details of our House League program.

We are looking forward to a wonderful season in 2021 - and look forward to re-connecting in November for registration.

*The North York Baseball Association is a community based not-for-profit baseball league and as such we must set our fees to pay all our expenses.  In recent years, the city has reduced the service they provide to the park while increasing our annual user-fees. Consequently, we have had to increase our fees substantially this year to ensure that our facility is safe and continues to be of the highest quality. Even at the new rates, NYBA fees are lower that many other GTA organizations.

Please read the following
information carefully before registering

  • All games are played at Bond Park. Each team plays one game per week.

  • T-ball runs from May 5 to August 25. All other divisions run the week of May 4 to the end of the summer with a Championship Day for all teams on Saturday, September 12.

  • If you wish to register a child born in 2015 please contact us at registration@nyba.ca. Registration for that age group is not available on-line. The number of under age registrations is limited and will only be accepted if a parent can assist on the field.

  • The North York Baseball League runs through the entire summer. We reserve the right to refuse registration for children who will miss a significant number of weeks during July and August.

  • If you register 2 children from the same family there is a discount of $20 for the second child. For three or more children there is a further discount of $40 for each additional child. The discount is automatically applied when registering additional children. FOR THE FIRST CHILD, YOU MUST PAY THE FULL FEE.
  • North York Baseball accepts credit card payments and cheques only. We do not accept e-transfers. Credit card payments can be made during the registration process. If paying by cheque: they should be made out to North York Baseball Association and  mailed to: NYBA PO Box 131, Toronto, ON M3C 2R6. Please also note your child's name and the series that they registered for on the cheque.

  • From the Rookie level up, we will not be able to place your child on a team with more than 1 requested friend (siblings of the same age not included). Please limit your requests accordingly.

  • Children born in 2012 will be placed in Junior Rookie while those born in 2011 will be placed in Senior Rookie. Because the two Rookie divisions hold games on different nights you may wish to transfer between the two nights due to conflicts with other activities or if your child is ahead or behind his/her age group in ability. In order to transfer between the two rookie divisions, please email the registrar after registration with your request. Transfers between rookie divisions will be limited and accepted only if there is space. Any other request for division changes must be discussed with the registrar before registration is completed.

  • During the season we plan to offer opportunities for Rookie and Mosquito players to improve their skills. Details will be sent to parents when plans are finalized. We also hope to provide practice times prior to games during May and June for these divisions under the leadership of True North Sport Camps.

  • If during the registration process you have concerns or questions, e-mail us at registration@nyba.ca.

  • PARENT VOLUNTEERS: The North York Baseball Association can only be successful if we have enough volunteers so please let us know how you can help when you complete the registration forms. We can only accept registrations for spaces we have on teams and we can only have as many teams if we have enough coaches. Please e-mail us at mail@nyba.ca to have any questions about this answered.

  • SPONSORS: Sponsors help us keep our fees from going higher. If you or your company would consider sponsoring your child's team please contact me at registration@nyba.ca We are looking for sponsorships for T-ball. Please contact me if you know a person or organization that may be interested.
