Future Mets Advanced Baseball Development Camps

The North York Baseball Association has a long-standing relationship with the Toronto Mets Baseball Club, dating back to its inception. The Toronto Mets are a premier baseball organization that provides Canadian players, with exceptional skills, baseball scholarship opportunities in the US and Canada. Our relationship has resulted in more North York players graduating to the Mets, than any other association in Ontario.

This winter, the NYBA, in co-operation with the Toronto Mets, has created a series of Advance Baseball Development Camps.  These age-specific camps are designed to develop skills such as hitting, in-fielding, base running, pitching, catching, all the skills needed to be at the top of your group and prepare you for the next level.

Sessions instructors are Marcus Knecht and Josh Williams (bios below), both seasoned professional baseball players and instructors.  The sessions will be held at  Out of the Park Sports 1510 Birchmount Rd. Unit 162,  Scarborough, Ontario.

These clinics are open to all baseball players, whether or not part of the North York Baseball Association.

There are 4 sessions, with a possible make-up date.

Instructors:

Marcus Knecht

The summer after he transferred out of Division 1 Oklahoma State University and into Connors State Junior College, his passion for a career in baseball began.  In 2010, Marcus led his school to a #1 NJCAA National Ranking, he went homer for homer with Bryce Harper for the JUCO College Homerun Title and finished the year hitting .454 with 23 Homeruns. (Bryce finished with 27).

His accomplishments rewarded with him with a 3rd Round selection in the 2010 MLB Draft, where he spent the next eight years learning the ups and downs of performing at the highest levels in baseball. He now teaches baseball players how to access the same focus, drive, and know-how that helped propel him into the top tier of talent in the world.

Josh Williams

Towering at 6'4, 250 lbs, Josh Williams is a born leader. Josh attended Dodge City CC when, in his sophomore season, he led the Conquistadors to their first NJCAA World Series hitting, .381 with 11 Homeruns.

He was named to the JUCO World Series All-Tournament Team. Josh then went on to play at the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Division 1) before playing Independent professional baseball. Along with his deep knowledge of the game of hitting,

Josh has the deep drive to be a positive role model for the younger generation. With his outgoing personality and a friendly smile, he now guides, teaches and leads young baseball players along their journey of success.
