Over The Fence Grand Slam – 11U Select
The NYBA Blues 11U Select team is a completely new team for 2022.
On Sunday June 5, the 11U Select team hosted Leaside Baseball Association for the second game of the regular season.
Leaside was up by one run at the bottom of the fourth, with bases loaded. On a 0-1 count, Ozzie Padron Menendez hits a go-ahead grand slam over the left-field fence of diamond 2 onto the parking lot narrowly missing a parked car.
WHAT A SHOT!! The 11U North York Select defeated Leaside with a score of 9-5.
While the majority of players have some house league experience, all players are enthusiastic, willing to learn and have worked extremely hard during winter indoor practices leading up to the season.
With the help and dedication of the team’s four coaches, all boys are starting to show their full potential as demonstrated just the past Sunday.
