PITCH, HIT & RUN EVENT
SATURDAY, JUNE 14 | 8AM-11AM

BOND PARK, North York | DIAMOND 3
Clinic is Free | Register Here

The Blue Jay's Academy is so excited to bring MLB’s Pitch Hit & Run to Bond Park.

As a free event for softball and baseball players ages 7 to 14, players showcase their skills and compete against their peers. The top scorers at the Team Championship earn an all-expense paid trip for them and one guardian to the World Series (Game TBD), with the Pitch, Hit & Run Finals taking place on the same field the day after!

This is a perfect opportunity to let your child feel like a pro as they test out their Major League skills.

Here’s how Pitch, Hit & Run works:

  • Pitch: Athletes are tested on the accuracy of their throw. They get five attempts to hit the strike zone from a designated pitching line. If any portion of the target is hit, it counts toward the athlete’s total points. Each time they hit the target they receive 50 points, 100 points for a bullseye.
  • Hit: Athletes hit the ball off a tee as far as possible. They can adjust the tee to their desired height, and they receive 5 tries. Each ball receives points depending on what zone it lands in -- the score is based off where it lands, not where it rolls.
  • Run: Athletes are measured to see how quickly they can run from home to first base. Each participant gets two attempts to run, and their fastest score is recorded.
  • Athletes receive an overall score, which determines if they can advance to the Team Championship.
  • Winners who go to the Team Championships are put in a pool with other Team Championship winners, and the highest scores receive an all-expense paid trip for them and one guardian to the Finals, which takes place during the MLB World Series.

Programming is FREE for all participants.

All registered participants receive a confirmation email after registering.. An information email is sent out roughly five days prior to the clinic date and will contain details about the clinic including when to arrive, what to bring and if necessary, details on the inclement weather plan.

All participants are asked to bring a baseball glove, bat, helmet, running shoes, and be dressed in appropriate athletic attire. Please also bring enough water, snacks and sunscreen based on the climate that day. A couple bats and helmets will be available for folks who do not own those items.

NYBA would appreciate any and all volunteers for the event. If you are planning on watching your player anyway, why not lend a hand. For more information or volunteer contact Heather | heather@nyba.ca
