To Parents of Registered NYBA House League Players:

Parents, I am sending this e-mail now that we have heard from the provincial government regarding Step 1 of their “roadmap”.

I am anticipating that activity at Bond Park will be possible beginning the first full week of July(July 5th) with the application of Step 2 of the roadmap. Assuming this is the case, we will still be limited to the number of people who can congregate so the schedules presently being created provide for practice time for each team for the first two weeks after which we hope the scheduled games can begin with a continuation to the end of September.

PLEASE NOTE: The present plans are tentative. You will receive another e-mail in about two weeks at which time more definite plans can be provided.

T-BALL – We will have 6 T-ball teams who will share space on Diamond 2 each Tuesday beginning at 6:30p.m. For the first two Tuesdays this plan may have to be adjusted because of restrictions in numbers allowed. Stay tuned for more detail. A few more parents are needed to help as coaches.

ROOKIE – A combined Rookie division will play on Monday evenings. For the first two weeks the two teams that are to play at a specific diamond will share the time. One team will practice at 6:30p.m. and the other team will practice at 7:30p.m. After that all games will be played at 6:30p.m.

MOSQUITO and PEEWEE – The 6 teams in these divisions will play on Wednesdays (Mosquito) and Tuesdays (Peewee). For the first two weeks the two teams that are to play at a specific diamond will share the time. One team will practice at 6:30p.m. and the other team will practice at 7:30p.m. After that all games will be played at 6:30p.m.

BANTAM – The 2 Bantam teams will play their games on Monday evenings. For the first two weeks one team will practice at 6:30p.m. and the other team will practice at 8p.m. After that the games will be played at 6:45p.m. with practice times available for each team either before or after their game.

All team names will be names of major league baseball teams(without the city name) since we are not using sponsors this year. Batting helmets will be issued to all children who do not have their own. Helmets and uniforms will be given to teams to be distributed their first week at the park.

Parents who offered to help coach will be given team lists in the third week of June and asked to contact players to confirm the time and location of their first practice/game.

TEAMSNAP: We are gradually adding the House League to TeamSnap, both team rosters and schedules. The mobile app is available for free at the App Store. Log-in using the same credentials you did when you registered your player.

REFUNDS: Refunds for registration are subject to a small administration charge to compensate North York Baseball for its costs. We now have wait lists for each age division. Therefore, after June 18th we cannot guarantee refunds for cancellations if replacement players on the wait list are no longer available. Once the season starts, we will not be issuing refunds.

We are looking forward to getting started!

As I understand your email, you are on the Rookie Ball waiting list. Unfortunately I can’t tell you where you are on the list, but I will inquire.

At the moment our Rookie Ball series is full. If you are offered a position, it will be to fill a cancellation on a particular team. At this late date – we start July 5th – we can’t guarantee that friends can be placed together. In the younger years in particular we work hard to ensure that friends are together but also that teams are balanced by skills and age.

You daughter may be interested in our NYBA Baseball Skills Development Clinic that we are starting on Sunday – that’s baseball for the summer.

Otherwise, we hope to see her next year!

      Heather
